Graduate Achievements

Monica Nash, Class of 2007
Will graduate Magna Cum Laude from Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, and a secondary teaching certificate. Monica was accepted into the Teach for America program in January 2011 and last Wednesday (!) was hired as a secondary English teacher for the Harrison School District, Colorado Springs, CO. Monica will attend a month long TFA institute training in Phoenix this July then relocate to Colorado to begin her teaching career.

Marybeth Nash, Class of 2006
Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Oregon Health & Sciences University Nursing School-LaGrande, OR campus, with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing 2010. Received her Oregon Nurses Board license in July 2010 and began work as a registered nurse at the Grande Ronde Hospital in LaGrande, OR. She is receiving training in all the departments in the hospital; was recently elected to the nurses union membership committee, and was selected to work on the implementation and support team for computerized medication documentation.

Corianne Etheredge, Class of 2006
Corianne, a recent New College of Florida graduate, is going to South Korea as an English language teaching assistant on a Fulbright Scholarship. After completing this intensive classroom experience, Cori plans to enroll in U.S. graduate school to study public policy with an education policy concentration.

Steven Levitte, Class of 2006
Steven is a 2010 graduate from Lewis and Clark with a BA in Biology. He is starting an MD/PhD program at the University of Washington in the fall, funded by the National Institute of Health. THe NIH offers this eight year full tuition program to only 350 people nationally each year. This summer he will work in an immunology lab before starting med school.

George Levitte, Class of 2004
George graduated from Stanford University in 2008 with both a BA in Economics and an MS in Management Science and Engineering. He attributes the ability to complete a coterminal degree program to the fact that he took many AP credits while at BHS. He currently works for a consulting firm and will be attending Harvard Business School in the fall of 2010 to get an MBA.

Justin Metzler, Class of 2004
After graduating from BHS and the Advanced Health Careers program here, Justin attended the University of Portland to study nursing. He was just named the New Nurse of the Year at Providence, St. Vincents in Portland, where he works in the Intensive Care Unit.
