Community Engagement Committees
A key element of the District is its supportive community.
The District has a very active volunteer program. Parents, community
members and business representatives can be found in classrooms
throughout the District giving teachers a helping hand.
Whether it's in the classroom, the boardroom or on the playground,
volunteers contribute invaluable expertise and service. Many area
businesses have partnered with the District to offer student invaluable:
- School-to-work opportunities
- Instruction
- Special services
Parents and other community members donate countless hours in areas like reading to and tutoring students who need extra attention, monitoring the playground, and teaching students about their work or special interests each year through:
- Volunteer programs
- Councils
- Committees
- Parent/teacher organizations
Volunteers also have the opportunity to share their ideas and concerns with school staff through:
- School site councils
- Community Engagement Committees
- Issue specific committees
