Introduction to Oregon Public Contracting
The State of Oregon is the District's primary source of public funds. The funds are used to pay staff salaries and to purchase the required goods and services needed to operate. The State provides a set of rules to follow when buying these goods and services - the Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) Chapter 279 - the "Oregon Public Contracting Code". The Code is a set of procurement related rules that govern public contracting practices and methods. The District is required to follow these rules when buying goods and services. Chapters:
