Latest Budget Update - District Will Not Shorten 2008-09 School Year

The Beaverton School Board approved a plan last week to rebalance the District's 2008-09 budget by $3.4 million. The plan calls for using the following resources:
  • Use District's Sustainability Fund $1,905,000
  • Savings from Department and School Budgets $1,000,000
  • Savings from hiring freeze $500,000
Total: $3,405,000

The District will not shorten the school year or lay off staff in 2008-09.
