- Read: Sort the Wheat from the Chaff: What Makes for Good evidence of Effectiveness in the Literature in Gifted Education?

Meeting Topic: Overview: What should be? Research and Best Practices Clicker Activity - Project Members were asked to provide a "gut reaction" to provocative statements regarding gifted education. In small groups, Project Team members shared the research articles they reviewed for homework. After members posted their findings, the larger group spent time looking over each other's research findings.
Project Team members were asked to rank the NAGC Standards in order of importance. 
Homework: Please read the following books before our January 26 meeting.
- Detracking for Excellence and Equity - Burris & Garrity - ASCD
- Re-Forming Gifted Education - Karen Rogers - Great Potential Press
For each book, list five statements you believe are essential ideas for our work in re-designing the BSD TAG Program.

| - Team members completed the Text Protocol to reflect on the two books read for homework.
- Project Team members generated five notecards per book that listed five statements they believe are essential ideas for the work in re-designing the BSD TAG Program. The cards were then sorted into the seven categories from the NAGC standards.
- Homework: Read the following scenarios
. Describe the minimum service the District should provide, as well as exemplary practices to which we aspire.

| - TAG 101 - TAG Specialists reviewed the TAG Law, including: Identification, Parent Rights, and Program Services.
- Project Team Members reviewed and revised the guiding principles based on comments made by TAG facilitators.
- Homework: Analyze second set of student scenarios
. Address the issues presented, including the minimum service provided by the BSD as well as the exemplary practice that we should strive to achieve.
