Planning Worksheets

ELEMENTARY TAG PLANNING WORKSHEETS

In addition to report cards, progress reports, and conferences, all core subject teachers complete a TAG Planning Worksheet for each TAG identified student in their classes. TAG Planning Worksheets are tools that teachers use to evaluate the needs of TAG identified students and communicate with parents. The purpose of the TAG Planning Worksheet is to provide better communication between the parents and the teachers about each student. Parents are encouraged to discuss their son/daughter's academic program throughout the school year with their child's teacher. Some students do not need any modifications in one area and may need many modifications in another.

MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL TAG INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN

Middle Schools in the Beaverton School District will be changing the way they report on differentiation in their classrooms for TAG students as well as the way that they document this instruction.

Instructional Planning Sheets that are filled out for classes rather than individual students will replace the previously used TAG Planning Sheets. These new planning sheets have been used at the high school level since 2001 and have been effective and efficient. The planning sheets encourage up-front differentiation and alternative assignments and techniques for the TAG students.

The Instructional Plans are not mailed home to TAG parents, but they are available at parent conferences and are kept and updated in notebooks that are available from TAG facilitators as well as administrators. The individual TAG Planning Worksheets are still available upon parent request.

The new planning sheets are the result of several years of revisions based upon teacher and parent input as well as direct discussions with the Oregon Department of Education.
