Beginning June 16th, fifteen school sites will be participating in the summer food service program which offers meals at no charge to all children in the community ages 18 years old and younger. We will also be operating a mobile lunch service at the Beaverton City Park and various apartment complexes in Washington County, Monday through Friday from June 16th - August 14th.
No Special Application is necessary!
No Registration!
The program is expanding
this year to meet the growing needs of our community! In Beaverton,
15 school sites will be operating open programs, in addition to 12 mobile sites
in which meals will be directly delivered to.
One of our newest sites will be located in the Beaverton City
Park. Lunches will be offered there along with fun
activities coordinated through the Tualatin
Hills Park
and Recreation Districts’ “RecMobile
” and the Beaverton City Library.
Just as learning does not end when school lets out, neither does a child's need for good nutrition. The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) provides meals at no charge, to help children get the nutrition they need to learn, play, and grow, throughout the summer months when school is not in session. THPRD and the Oregon State Nutrition Education Extension Service will be teaming up with our department to offer exciting games and activities, nutrition education and food exploration at various meal sites throughout Washington County. All children are encouraged and welcome to come join us in the fun!
