District Launches Keeping Kids Safe On The Internet Resource Page

In response to the Beaverton School Board’s request for a parent component to accompany the online safety piece of the Library and Information Literacy learning targets, a Keeping Kids Safe on the Internet page was created on the District website. District Instructional Technology Specialist, Pam Leland and Library Support Specialist, Jenny Takeda worked on the site together and posted the link on the For Parents page. Some of the recommendations for parents include:

Also included on the site are several resource links for keeping your kids safe, safety contracts for parents and kids, chat acronyms for parents, general internet information, social networking information and software solutions.

There is a link to Internet Safety for Parents and Students inside the yellow “New and updated” box. In addition, the page is available by selecting “Links of interest” on the left side. This is a great resource for BSD students, parents and staff.
