It is the mission of Highland Park Middle School to provide quality educational opportunities for all students to help them become productive members of a changing society. A climate that supports the intellectual, creative, social, emotional and physical growth of each individual student will be assured through a continued emphasis on:

• Providing a quality comprehensive educational program committed to excellence; Creating an environment that contributes to a sense of belonging and well- being on the part of the people who work and learn in the school
• Providing programs that recognize unique needs and special characteristics of early adolescence and that foster a smooth transition from elementary to high school

• Encouraging each student's growth in personal awareness and self- direction
