Health And Science SchoolHealth Science School (HS2) - 18640 NW Walker Road, Beaverton, OR 97006 HS2 opened it's doors in Fall 2007 with a 9th grade class. In 2008/09 HS2 served students in grades 6, 9, and 10 and will add additional grades each year, serving middle grades 6 and 7 plus high school grades 9, 10, and 11 in 2009/10. By 2010/11, HS2 will serve students in grades 6-12. HS2 is open to all students with an interest in science and medicine. It is a powerful learning community in a small school setting for students from all social, cultural and economic backgrounds. As a part of this college prep program, students learn in small, teacher-led investigative teams that foster communication, engagement, research skills, critical thinking and problem-solving. Students will be able to earn college credit in grades 11 and 12 and will be prepared to pursue a career in the science and health professions. In addition, there are opportunities for health career certification courses after school and during the evening for seniors at HS2.
