History
| McKinley Elementary School is named after the 25th President of the United States, William McKinley. | ||||
It was established in 1889 in a 20 x 30 foot building on this present site, selected by Nels Johnson, Albert Keehn and Julius Foege. (pictured) A new school replaced this building in 1916 and the large bell was installed. The addition in 1944 necessitated the removal of the belfry. |

| The present school opened in 1957. After 20 years of silence, the "old bell" was rededicated as a memorial to past generations and an inspiration to the future. | ||||
