Local School Committee
Local School Committees (LSC) have been established by the Beaverton School District to provide assistance and direction to the individual schools and to the school board. Members of the LSC are elected by voters in the school attendance area. The role of this committee is defined by Oregon statutes and Beaverton School District policies.
The committee meets in an open public meeting on a monthly basis with the principal. It acts as liaison between the community, the school and the Beaverton School Board.
LSC duties include determining the use of school property, visiting the school frequently, recommending improvements to school property, recommending rejection of staff, and reporting to and advising the School Board on progress and community concerns regarding the school.
