School
Improvement Plan
The Springville Site Council consists of parents, staff, and the principal. This group reviews achievement information, writes school goals based on achievement patterns, and recommends a plan for working on those goals, including professional development. The plan is multi-year and frequently updated as steps are accomplished and needs emerge. The Site Council usually meets monthly.
The staff Advisory Crew and task force groups (such as the Writing Crew) also provide input for the school improvement plan. In addition, an Expeditionary Learning (EL) Work Plan outlines school efforts in EL benchmark practices (learning expeditions, active pedagogy, culture and character, leadership, and structures), in response to staff self-evaluation and data from classroom observations. The school improvement plan generated by the Site Council is coordinated with the EL work plan.
