What is Canvas?

The Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) is used by many middle and high school teachers as an extension to in-class instruction. Teachers using Canvas can post assignments, give feedback, and communicate with students. 

What are the benefits of having a Canvas account?

Parents or guardians do not need a Canvas account to monitor student progress. You can continue to use ParentVUE. However, you can create a Canvas account to view more detailed assignment information, view feedback and communicate with the teacher.  

Create your own Canvas account

You will need your student’s Beaverton School District username and password. Read over all the instructions and refer back to them when necessary. To create an account you must use a computer, not a mobile device such as a cell phone or tablet. 

*If you have an existing account and are unable to see current courses or add additional students, please email: canvas@beaverton.k12.or.us  

**NOTE: If you are a teacher in the Beaverton School District you will want to use a personal email account and personal device when establishing your parent account.​
