What is Canvas?

The Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) is used by many middle and high school teachers as an extension to in-class instruction. Teachers using Canvas can post assignments, give feedback, and communicate with students. 

What are the benefits of having a Canvas account?

Parents or guardians do not need a Canvas account to monitor student progress. You can continue to use ParentVUE. However, you can create a Canvas account to view more detailed assignment information, view feedback and communicate with the teacher.  

Setting up your Canvas account

  1. If you already had a ParentVUE account, a Canvas parent account has been created for you. Follow the instructions found HERE to verify your Canvas account and set the password.

    1. If you have forgotten your ParentVUE login, follow  instructions found HERE


  1. If you did not have a ParentVUE account, follow ParentVUE Instructions found HERE to set one up.

    1. After your ParentVUE account has been created, within 24 hours, our automated system will create your Canvas parent/guardian account.

    2. After a 24-hour period, follow the instructions found HERE to verify your Canvas account and set the password.

  1. If you had a previous Canvas parent/guardian account you may receive an email from Canvas asking if you would like to merge them together.

    1. You may merge them and follow the instructions found HERE to verify your Canvas account and set the password.
