JHFF – Reporting Requirements Regarding Sexual Conduct

All District employees must report when there is reasonable cause to believe that a child has been abused or subject to sexual conduct (ORS 339.388 and 419b.010). Records kept of observed indicators of abuse are considered part of the student records. Employees must report the information to their super- visor, building principal, or Superintendent, and to the Washington County Department of Human Services or local law enforcement agency.

The District will provide an annual training on the prevention, identification of child abuse and the obligation of school employees to report suspected child abuse for parents and legal guardians of students attending district schools. Annual training designed to help prevent child abuse will be made available to students attending district-operated schools.
