DN - Disposal of District Property
The Board may, at any time, declare district property as surplus and authorize its disposal when such property is no longer useful to the district, unsuitable for use, too costly to repair or obsolete. Efforts will be made to find other uses for items declared surplus.
Items that are still usable, but no longer of use in the district, may be disposed of through approved state agencies or through other means of disposal where the public has the ability to acquire surplus items. The monies generated by sale or disposal of items are returned to the general fund. If the district property was purchased with state, federal or private grant funds, disposal of the property shall be made as outlined in the grant or by state or federal regulations.
Specific information related to disposal of district property is delineated in the district’s Purchasing Manual which is updated periodically.
