Deputy Superintendent for Operations & Support Services

Carl Mead

Dr. Carl Mead, Ed.D.

Carl Mead has served as the district’s Deputy Superintendent for Operations & Support Services since his appointment in 2016. Dr. Mead joined the Beaverton School District in 1986 as a teacher and has continued to serve the Beaverton School District community as a teacher at both the elementary and middle school levels, principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels and most recently served the district as the Deputy Superintendent for Teaching and Learning.

During Mead’s tenure with the district he has continued to work with a wide variety of constituents to provide the best opportunities for all students. Operations and Support Services entails Business Services, Facilities, Facilities Development, Human Resources, Information Technology, Long-Range Planning, Maintenance, Nutrition Services, Public Safety, and Transportation. With Mead’s background and experience as a school leader his knowledge and skills provide significant opportunities to improve services of our district to meet the needs and expected outcomes for students, staff and building administrators.  

Mead holds a Bachelor of Arts from Pacific University (1986), Master of Arts in Teaching from Lewis & Clark College (1991) and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Oregon (2008).
