District Faith Partner: Kindred Partners
Kindred Partners, formerly Love INC Beaverton, is a non-profit organization that mobilizes local churches to support community needs directly related to poverty issues. Kindred Partners has supported Beaverton School District schools and students for many years.
One of the projects, Packed with Love, has for the past eight years, provided much needed back packs filled with school supplies for Beaverton middle and high school students. The fun-filled event draws hundreds of volunteers and community members each year to support the most vulnerable students and their families.
Kindred Partners also developed a partnership with Greenway Elementary School to build a fence around the school property. In partnership with Catalyst Partnerships NW and the parents of Greenway, the fence project will be completed in May. Additionally, a team from the local church is in the process of making weighted blankets for each classroom and sensory boxes have already been delivered.
Kindred Partners is developing after school programs and designing onramps for church partnerships and business partnerships to further the goals of the Greenway staff. Another support for the Beaverton School District is the Safe Families for Children program that provides short and long term host families for three unaccompanied homeless teens in the District.
Togetherness is a core value of kindred partners and through partnership; they collaborate with area churches and community organizations to meet the needs of the community. In partnership with Luis Palau Association, Kindred Partners supports local churches and local schools to develop partnerships to encouraging greater engagement by our local churches and empowering the imagination and passion of local school communities.
