District Faith Partner: Holy Trinity Catholic Church

Holy Trinity Catholic Church is a generous and accommodating partner with the Beaverton School District, supporting Beaverton students with a weekend backpack program that distributes 140 backpacks a week, 3,000 annually, reaching more than 12,000 people. Al Schmitt has formed a coalition of area churches that partner to fulfill weekend food needs that provides 535 weekly backpack deliveries across the District. They are committed to ensuring that no students within the District go hungry.

They established the on-site food pantry at Bridges Academy located at the Capital Center.

Holy Trinity also supports homeless unaccompanied teens in the District with duffel bags filled with health and safety items.

They established a Refugee Welcoming Program distributing furnishings from donations to help set up apartments for these new families, orienting them to TriMet, providing resource information about medical services and Beaverton school registration.

They support the Ministry House which provides 10 bedrooms and two communal kitchens for unsheltered BSD families with children. Holy Trinity's' dedication to partnering with the Beaverton School District sets a wonderful example for our staff, students and community.
