Meet the BSD Achievers for June! We’re proud to recognize the incredible contributions of:
- Mya White, Early Childhood Care Provider at Merlo Station Campus
- Lori Krumm, Executive Administrator for Student Services in the Teaching & Learning Department
This month, we also honor the memory of Sarah Widmer, beloved kindergarten teacher at Beaver Acres Elementary, who was selected as a June BSD Achiever. Though she died days before receiving this award, we want to celebrate her lasting impact on our community. Sarah’s nomination speaks volumes about her dedication and heart:
“Sarah works tirelessly to support her students, the kindergarten team and the whole of Beaver Acres. She constantly thinks of new ideas to help ensure our students are successful. She leads programs like the Arts4Smarts fundraiser, which raises thousands of dollars for our school every year, and connects us with community partners who help make sure we have supplies for our kids. She spends time every day to check in with others and cares deeply for this work. She cares so much I wonder how she has the time and energy for her life outside of school. She pours her heart into everything she does, and I am so glad that I have her as a teammate. She is the best.”
Sarah’s legacy of compassion continues through the lives she touched — and through the four lives impacted by her selfless gift of organ donation.
Congratulations to all of our June BSD Achievers.

Nomination Form
What is the BSD Achievers program?
BSD Achievers is an exciting new program that seeks to recognize the hard work and dedication of the BSD staff members. Each month, three honorees will be selected from nominations submitted by the students, parents/guardians, staff and Beaverton community members.
Who is eligible to be a BSD Achiever?
Anyone employed by the Beaverton School District can be nominated — teachers, paraeducators, bus drivers, nutrition service workers, custodians, office assistants, counselors, nurses, administrators... anyone! Winners may only be recognized once every two years.
(Members of the selection committee are not eligible to be selected as winners.)
Who selects BSD Achievers?
Each month, a committee made up of the Chief Human Resources Officer and Human Resources Executive Administrators will work to select the honorees from among all submitted nominations. They'll be looking to see which employees best exemplify our BSD Promise — Belong. Believe. Achieve.
How do I nominate a BSD Achiever?
To nominate a BSD Achiever, fill out the online form. You'll be asked to provide the nominee's name, position and work location, as well as why you feel the individual is worthy of recognition. Did a certain someone make a positive impact on your student? Or is someone's consistent hard work and dedication worthy of notice? Now's your chance to help them shine.
If your nominee isn't chosen for a specific month, don't worry. Your nomination will roll over to the next month and continue to be considered.
What happens when a BSD Achiever is selected?
Every month, district leaders will surprise the winners on the job and present them with the award.
We'll take plenty of photos and videos, which will be posted on the district's website and social media channels.
