As the new school year kicks off, we want to make you aware of possible bus delays that may occur around the district. The City of Beaverton has several road and water projects in the works — some that will take one week to complete and others that may take up to 90 days. We’ve been told to expect both lane and full road closures. Areas that are particularly impacted include:
- SW Allen Blvd. & 92nd St.
- SW Hall Blvd.
- SW Scholls Ferry Rd.
- SW Western Ave.
- Hwy. 217 Southbound
Even though these construction projects are primarily in the southwestern part of the district, any delays will likely have ripple effects. For example, if a bus is delayed on its first route of the day to one school, it’ll likely be delayed on its second route to the next school. Unfortunately, because of the scale of the city’s projects, we’re unable to reroute buses to avoid traffic backups. Delays could run 15-30 minutes with the worst of the delays expected in the afternoons.
If you haven’t already, please download our bus tracking app called “Here Comes the Bus.” There are instructions on our website. The app will provide you with the most up-to-date information regarding your child’s route and location.
Our top priority is to deliver your child to and from school safely. We appreciate your patience.
