McKay Elementary ADA Upgrades

During the summer of 2016, contractors worked to install a lift and ramp to make portions of McKay Elementary School accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Four classrooms on the lower level of McKay were not ADA accessible.  The District removed an office to create the ramp and added a lift on the exterior of the building to provide accessibility to the lower level.

At completion, Principal Erin Kollings commented, "We are so excited to have a lift at McKay.  With the lift, now all of our students and families will have access to the ground floor.  Previously, this was not the case and wheelchairs had to be carried up and down the stairs."

Final Cost: $634,500
Funding: 2014 Bond
Schedule: 06/2016 - 09/2016
