New hires (.5 or greater FTE) will receive a password to enroll in benefits through our benefits enrollment website in the new hire email sent to you after your offer.
Deadlines depend on hire date:
- Hired before end of August
- Enroll by September 5, 2026
- Coverage effective September 1, 2026
General rule:
- Benefit forms are due within 30 days of hire and will be effective the first day of the working month following submission of the forms by the fifth of the month.

Canopy - Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a FREE and CONFIDENTIAL benefit for our part-time and full-time employees that can assist you and your eligible family members with any personal problems, large or small.
Personal Consultation with an EAP Professional
10 visits per year and many more resources! Face to face, over the phone, or online counseling sessions for concerns such as:
- Marital conflict
- Conflict at work
- Depression
- Stress management
- Family relationships
- Anxiety
- Alcohol or drug abuse
- Grieving a loss

PERS (Public Employee Retirement System)
All employees of Beaverton School District who meet the PERS qualification guidelines (work at least 6 full consecutive months for the same employer and reach at least 600 hours of work in the calendar year) become contributing members of the Public Employees Retirement System.
