For Elementary Grades (PreK - 5th)

What is ParentVUE?

ParentVue is a web portal that allows parents and guardians to access real-time information related to their student(s).

Where can I find the link to ParentVUE?

How do I get a username and password to login to ParentVUE?

You will need the Activation Key supplied from your child's school to set up your ParentVUE account.

On the login screen, click on More Options > Activate Account.

What are the system requirements for ParentVUE?

ParentVUE can be accessed via any web browser and works best on a high-speed internet connection.

Can I access ParentVUE on my phone?

Yes, though some ParentVUE features may not be available in the mobile app.

Which languages are available?

ParentVUE is currently available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Russian, Japanese, and Arabic.

What information can I get from the calendar?

The Calendar tab displays the important details of your child’s school day. It shows District/school events, along with assignment and quiz dates from the Grade Book.

 

How do I see my child’s attendance?

The Attendance tab offers a calendar view showing non-school days. Setting the Days of attendance detail to “on” will show a list of all absence entries for the current school year.

Why isn’t there more info on the Class Schedule screen?

At the elementary level, students are only scheduled into Homeroom, Music, and PE classes.

Why does Course History show “No Course History”?

Course History is not available at the elementary level.

Why is there limited information in Class Websites?

Class Websites are not often used at the elementary level.

Why is there no Grade Book information?

Grade Book information is not currently available at the elementary level.

Can I view the information that the District has for my child’s immunization records?

Yes. The Health tab displays your child’s immunization summary.

Can I get my child’s Report Card through ParentVUE?

Yes, elementary level report cards become available on a current school year basis after the end of a grading semester.

How do I request paperless report cards?

Parents may opt out of paper report cards by clicking on the My Account tab and checking ‘I only want to receive my child’s report card on-line, do not send me a printed report card’.

Can I email my child’s teachers from ParentVUE?

Yes, from both the Class Schedule and School Information tabs.

Just click on the teacher’s name to draft a new email.

What is on the Student Info screen?

The Student Info tab shows your child’s demographic information, emergency contacts, and physician info.

Can someone else gain access to my child’s information?

No. Each parent is assigned a unique Activation Key. This gives only you access to your child(ren)’s information. Using this key, you will create a unique username and password.  Please ensure that you protect your username and password.

Please remember to click on the Close button in the upper right corner of your window when you are finished with ParentVUE. This will log you off from the system. Close your browser for added security.

How do I view my child’s progress toward graduation and course history?

Both are available on the Course History tab.

Graduation Status shows the percent of credits the student has achieved toward graduation. Hovering over a bar or clicking Detail “on” will show more information.

Test Requirements shows the student’s essential skills status. These are part of graduation requirements.

Student Course History displays your child’s courses, grades and credits received for all BSD secondary schools they’ve attended.

Can I view my child’s course requests?

Your child’s school may be using the online course request feature in StudentVUE. This is only visible at certain times of the school year.

What’s the difference between Grade Book and Report Card screens?

The Grade Book screen allows you to keep track of your child’s grades, assignments and test scores that have been posted in their teachers’ Grade Book.

To see more detailed information about the class, click the class name.

The Standards View includes a legend for the rubrics. Report Card displays final grades when grading is complete.

How do I find assignment and standard details?

Clicking on a class name from the Grade Book tab displays the Standards View. Clicking on a standard will further expand it, showing the associated assignments.

Click Assignment View at the top of this page to see all assignments for the class.

Clicking on the assignment name will show more detail, including the associated standards and the assignment dates. Any attached documents will be shown under the Resources section of the window. Click on any resource to download a copy.

How do I request paperless report cards?
