Welcome to Day 5!
Choose a nonfiction book to read. Preview the book by reading the back, looking at the pictures. What do you think you might learn about the topic? Then, when you get to a new section of the book, ask yourself, “What might I learn in this section?” Write down a few predictions and read on.
Spend any extra time reading a fiction book of your choice.
Today you will continue adding to your information writing draft. Information writers use specific details to teach about a topic, like numbers, colors, sizes, shapes, quotes. Read through your draft and find places where you can add specific details.
Complete 1-2 lessons in DreamBox and today's problem:
On Monday, the media center began unpacking boxes of books that were ordered.
In the morning, they unpacked 479 books and in the afternoon they unpacked 363 books.
How many books were unpacked that day?
