### Welcome to Day 9!

Nonfiction readers stop and think about what they are reading, figuring out what they think, feel, and wonder about it. Choose a nonfiction book to read or continue with the one you have been reading. Write your ideas in your notebook. You might use phrases like:

• I am learning. . .

• I wonder. . .

• I feel. . .

• This is important because. . .

• This makes me think. . .

Today, use the editing checklist to edit your writing as you prepare to publish.

## MATH

Complete 1-2 lessons in DreamBox and today's problem:

Tom wrote the number 45,378.

Bill wrote the number 36,721

How many times greater is the 7 in Bill’s number than the 7 in Tom’s number?

What if the 7 was in the ten-thousands place? How many times greater would it be then?

## MOVEMENT

Be sure to take breaks to move your body during the day. You can do activities from the BSD Brainboost Page.

Play a board game you have or create your own game to play today!

Practice keeping the beat with your feet while clapping a different rhythm with your hands.

Make up a fact statement and an opinion statement for ice cream.  Now, make up a fact and an opinion statement for something else.  Explain the difference to an adult.
