Custodial Services
Custodial Services is responsible for the cleaning of 51 schools and 11 ancillary facilities. The cleaning of District operated facilities is a multi-million dollar operation, employing nearly 160 custodians.
An operation of this size requires a strong and well-defined organization in order to provide an efficient and economical cleaning program. Our goal is to establish a level of cleaning that will result in a clean, safe, and secure environment for District students and staff. Cleanliness is recognized by many as an important factor in maintaining employee morale and work efficiency. Our cleaning program is based on uniform standards that are constantly being fine-tuned. The District cleaning program is managed through Custodial Services, within the Maintenance Services Department.
Custodial Services provides a service to all facilities by reviewing custodial routes, periodic training, assigning substitutes, and providing supplies and uniforms. Custodial Services conducts periodic facility inspections to assure cleaning procedures are being followed.
