Early Childhood/Family Education
>This entry level course is intended to provide students with an overview of the field of Early Childhood Education with particular attention to developmental concepts relating to infants and children. Areas of study will include: ages and stages of development, pre-literacy skills, brain development, environmental safety and criteria for choosing quality child care/preschool. Careers working with young children will be covered with necessary entry-level skills needed. This is a level 1 class towards earning a Human Resources Career Pathway.

Child Development I
This course covers child development, parenting, child care concepts, and the wide range of career opportunities available to those interested in children. Experience working with preschool age children (in our onsite Little Wildcats Preschool) will be a critical part of the class. Students interested in a career in teaching, medicine, social work, or child-care related fields are encouraged to enroll. Areas of study will include: classroom diversity & culture, birth order, nutrition and play development. This is a level 2 class towards earning Human Resources Career Pathway.
