Community Review of K-5 Social Sciences Curriculum

Beaverton School District is conducting a formal review of its K-5 Social Sciences instructional materials and invites staff, parents and community members to participate in the review process prior to the School Board considering adoption.

The BSD community will have both in-person and virtual materials viewing and input opportunities between April 20 and April 24.

• April 20-24, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 

• Monday, April 20, 5-6 p.m. 

• Tuesday, April 21, 5-6 p.m. 

• Thursday, April 23, 5-6 p.m.

Visit the K-5 Social Sciences Instructional Materials Review webpage for digital review and a feedback form. Feedback will be accepted through Friday, April 24 at 5p.m. 

The Beaverton School Board will consider adoption of the K-5 Social Sciences instructional materials at its regular board meeting on May 12.

This review is being conducted in coordination with the Oregon Department of Education and in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rule 581-022-2350 and Board Policy IIA and Administrative Regulation IIA-AR.
