(Reading) ALT 1 - Literature-Prose and Poetry

Reading Literature: With prompting and support, I can actively engage in reading prose and poetry of appropriate complexity for grade 1.

AST 1.1 - (Key Ideas) - Questions about Key Detail  :  I can ask and answer questions about key details in a text.

AST 1.2 - (Key Ideas) - Retell Stories  :  I can retell stories, including key details, and demonstrate understanding of their central message or lesson.

AST 1.3 - (Key Ideas) - Describe using Key Details  :  I can describe characters, settings, and major events in a story, using key details.

AST 1.4 - (Craft-Struct) - Identify Words  :  I can identify words and phrases in stories or poems that suggest feelings or appeal to the senses.

AST 1.5 - (Craft-Struct) - Differences of Books  :  I can explain major differences between books that tell stories and books that give information, drawing on a wide reading of a range of text types.

AST 1.6 - (Craft-Struct) - Identify Storyteller  :  I can identify who is telling the story at various points in a text.
