Option Schools & Programs

The application window for the 2025-2026 Option School lottery is now open.

The deadline for applications is Friday, December 13, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

Thin Orange Line

The Beaverton School District is nationally recognized for high student achievement and innovative programs. Beaverton students in grades 6-12 have the opportunity to investigate the learning option that best fits their academic needs. Students can choose their neighborhood school, or one of Learning Option schools.

Transportation is provided for students who attend an Option School/Program and live outside the school's walking zone. Students on Interdistrict Transfers are responsible for their own transportation. ​

Important Dates for 2025-26 Admission to Learning Option Schools/Programs

 

  • Monday, October 14, 2024: Lottery application window opens

  • Friday, December 13, 2024: Lottery application deadline. Applications due to the Learning Options Office by 3:00 p.m. PST

  • WEDNESDAY, December 18, 2024: Lottery is conducted.

  • FRIDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2024: Notifications are sent via email.
    Second consideration is offered to applicants who were not selected in the lottery.
    RESULTS WILL NOT BE GIVEN OVER THE PHONE.

Arts & Communication Magnet Academy, Beaverton Academy of Science & Engineering and the International School of Beaverton are all option schools for grades 6-12 that utilize the lottery process for admissions. Rachel Carson Program of Environmental Science is a Learning Options Program for grades 6-8 at Cedar Park that also uses the lottery process for admissions.
