Welcome to Day 2!
Once again today, look through the nonfiction books on the Epic library. Choose another book that is just right (not too hard, not too easy) that you are also excited to read. Read for 15-20 minutes and write down facts and information that you thought were interesting in your notebook.
Spend any extra time reading a fiction book of your choice.
Today you are going to choose another one of information writing ideas and begin a draft. Follow the steps on the anchor chart --
Complete 1-2 lessons in DreamBox and today's problem:
A shirt costs $15. A pair of sneakers costs four times as much.
How much does the pair of sneakers cost?
A hat is half as much as the sneakers, so how much does the hat cost?
If Ken buys one hat, one pair of sneakers, and two shirts, how much has he spent?
WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT TODAY'S ACTIVITIES.
WAIT, DON'T 🍁 YET! WE STILL HAVE TO PICK ACTIVITIES FROM OUR CHOICE BOARD...
Perform at least two acts of kindness for someone today.
Write about or take a picture showing what you did and how it made you feel.
Watch the Pixar short film Game Changer.
How did this film make you feel? What do you think the message or theme of this story is? What did the character(s) learn? Draw, write, or act out your own story that is similar.
Divide a paper in half. Create a picture of yourself doing something that you like to do on one side. Then draw something make believe that you want to do (e.g. fly, lift heavy cars, be invisible).
Make a playlist for a friend or family member.
Look out of your window or take a walk. Where do you see that humans have changed the environment? Draw three ways that you see that humans have changed the natural world.
What symbols make you think of certain holidays?
Draw them and tell about the holiday it represents.
