Oregon State Seal of Biliteracy

 

The Oregon State Seal of Biliteracy is an award given in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation. The award is available for all qualifying BSD students. The Seal is awarded to students that satisfy all of these requirements:

  • Meet all Oregon HS Graduation Requirements (seniors only)
  • Pass Essential Skills in Reading and Writing in English
  • Demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English through one of these assessments:
    • Advanced Placement (AP): 4
    • International Baccalaureate
      • Lang B SL: 4
      • Lang B HL: 4
      • Lang A SL: 4
    • ACTFL: 7 or above on rubric scores
    • STAMP 4S: 6 or above in all areas
    • Willamette Promise: 74 or above

Students that are eligible during the spring of their senior year will receive the Seal shortly before graduation. For students that don’t receive their qualifying test results until after graduation, the Seal will be mailed to them the following fall.
