Career Technical Education (CTE) programs consist of a sequenced pathway of at
least three credits, progressing from introductory career exploration to advanced
technical skill development. These programs prepare students to enter the
workforce or continue into post-secondary education. Through CTE programs, students:

  • Develop leadership, employability and technical skills that support entry into high-demand, high-wage careers in our local region.

  • Engage in instruction aligned with local industry standards and post-secondary expectations.

  • Earn industry-recognized credentials at no cost.

Site-Based CTE Programs

Site-based CTE programs provide students with hands-on learning experiences in specific career areas at their home high school. These programs are available to students already enrolled at the BSD high school and are accessed through the standard course selection process.

District CTE Option Programs

District CTE Option Programs are two-year, half-day programs that provide students with immersive, hands-on preparation in specific career areas. All BSD comprehensive high school students may apply through the course selection process, with admission determined by a districtwide lottery, and transportation provided to ensure equitable access for all students.
