IN THIS PROGRAM, YOU'LL... 

  • Use a variety of tools and equipment to design and build finished products.
  • Build structures from the foundation to the roof.
  • Create and understand technical drawings to build to outlined specifications.
  • Practice industry-specific safe, legal and ethical working habits.
  • Learn from local businesses through internships, mentorship, workplace tours and job shadow opportunities.
  • Graduate with a BOLI-approved, Pre-Apprenticeship certification for easier entry into registered apprenticeships.
Option Construction Course Map

Students have the opportunity to earn 0.5 graduation requirement credit in Higher Education & Career Path Skills (HECPS) awarded in the advanced level course of the CTE program.

 
Open to students enrolled at any BSD comprehensive high school
District transportation is provided between a student's home high school and program location

HOW TO ENROLL

To enroll, select the Construction Technology CTE Option Program during course selection. A lottery for selection will be conducted in May. Connect with your school’s college and career center and your counselor for more information.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

CTE Option Programs are two-year, half-day programs that provide students with immersive, hands-on preparation in specific career areas. All BSD comprehensive high school students may apply through the course selection process, with admission determined by a districtwide lottery, and transportation provided to ensure equitable access for all students.
