Students have the opportunity to earn 0.5 graduation requirement credit in Higher Education & Career Path Skills (HECPS) awarded in the advanced level course of the CTE program.

 

IN THIS PROGRAM YOU'LL...


 

  • Learn to safely use a variety of tools, equipment and machinery to build finished products
  • Understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Learn how buildings are constructed from the foundation to the roof
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork and communication skills
  • Practice safe, legal, and ethical working habits
  • Be exposed to a variety of opportunities for a future career in the construction trades

 


 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Site-based CTE programs provide students with hands-on learning experiences in specific career areas at their home high school. Programs focus on developing career-specific technical skills, professionalism, employability skills, and industry-recognized credentials, while offering opportunities to engage with local business and industry partners. These programs are available to students already enrolled at the BSD high school and are accessed through the standard course selection process.
