Intro to Health Careers
Biomedical Health Careers is an exploration of health care occupations. The courses will expose students to the variety of opportunities available within the healthcare industry (e.g., nursing, therapy, dental care, administrative services, and lab technology). These courses provide experiences in several of these occupational clusters, along with information and knowledge related to the healthcare industry as a whole. Note: this course is different than the BHS Health Careers program.

Sports Medicine 1
Sports Medicine 1 is designed for students interested in fields such as athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, fitness, exercise and sports science, kinesiology and medicine. Students will study anatomy as it applies to athletic injuries, medical terminology, protective equipment, taping, injury prevention, physical training and conditioning, sports trauma, biomechanics, kinesiology, therapeutic modalities, laws and regulations, and exploration of the many careers in sports medicine. After completing Sports Medicine 1, students will have a strong foundation and be prepared for Sports Medicine 2.

First Aid
The purpose of First Aid is to develop knowledge and skills to provide emergency care to persons injured in an accident or stricken by sudden illness. You will learn procedures and techniques of basic life support for adult, child, or infant victims of airway obstruction, respiratory arrest and/or cardiac arrest as well as proper methods and procedures for applying CPR and AED in a given emergency situation. Upon successful completion of this course, students will earn an American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Adult/Child and Infant CPR certificate.
