Connect is a diploma completion program for credit-deficient 5th and 6th year seniors. Students are eligible who have four or fewer credits to complete. Students who complete their diploma requirements in Passages Connect will receive their diploma from their neighborhood high school.
Before enrolling in the program, applicants take GED pretests to determine their readiness for the official tests. Depending on pretest scores, students may enroll with us for academic prep in Passages Reengagement on the Merlo Station Campus, or they may have an options meeting to determine another path for high school completion. Once enrolled with us, students will also develop their post-high school goals including work readiness, career training, and college prep.
Students ages 16-18 are welcome to apply. Those aged 19 can apply as long as they turn 19 after September 1. Students with an IEP have until the age of 21 to apply.
Students ages 16-19 can take charge of their education in our re-engagement program. We focus on academic support, individualized plans for high school completion and post-secondary options, and non-academic barriers. Students spend an average of eight weeks in Interval before transitioning to the next step of their chosen educational path. *Currently enrolled seniors may have the option to finish in Interval if they are within four credits of graduating.
Passages teachers begin meeting with Beaverton School District cadets while they attend the Oregon National Guard Youth Challenge Program (OYCP), helping facilitate their return to the district, and supporting them until high school completion. For OYCP December and June graduates, Passages offers individualized transition planning, credit and state test opportunities. During the school year, OYCP Transition supports cadet graduates who are within four credits of graduating.
