Notice to High Schoolers
As a high school student, you can track yourself in Here Comes The Bus using your district-provided email address as the one you enter in step 3 of the Account Validation Instructions for Parents, just as if you were your own parent.
Account Validation Instructions for Parents
1. Download the free Here Comes the Bus app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (if you don't have it installed already), then open it on your device
2. On the welcome screen, enter 29743 in the “School District Code” field, then tap the button labeled CONTINUE. DO NOT click the button labeled SIGN UP. You do not need to actually create the account, as it is already automatically created for you based on the email address you provided the school your student attends. The following steps will explain how to validate your account.
3. On the next screen, confirm your school district is shown at the top, then in the “Email” field enter the email address on file for you, exactly the same email address that you supplied to the school your student attends.
3b. As of Fall 2026, your students are now automatically added into Here Comes The Bus for you from our Student Information System, so you no longer need to add your students manually. However, because of this change all previous Here Comes The Bus account passwords were invalidated as a necessary step. So leave the password field blank on this screen and instead you will need to tap “Forgot password?” to set a new password (even if this is your first time with the app).
4. On the “Forgot Password?” screen, your email address and school district code will be filled in automatically. Confirm they are correct, then tap “Reset Password.” A recovery link will be sent to your email.
5. A “Recovery link sent” pop-up will appear, letting you know the reset link is on its way to your inbox. Tap “OK,” then check your email. If you don’t see the message, check your spam or junk folder.
6. Open the “Here Comes the Bus Password Reset Request” email (from noreply@synovia.com) and click the “Reset Password” link. The link opens the Here Comes the Bus companion website, where you can choose and save a new password.
7. Once your new password is saved, go back to the Here Comes the Bus app and log in with your email address and new password. A four-digit verification code will be sent to your email. Tap “OK” on the confirmation pop-up.
8. Check your email for the four-digit code, enter it on the verification screen, then tap “Verify.” If you don’t see the email, check your spam or junk folder, or tap “Resend confirmation email.”
9. Enter a name for your device — for example, “Joe’s Phone” or “Family iPad.” You’ll use this name later when managing notifications. Tap “Confirm.”
