Middle School Boundary Data

To verify the accuracy of route data provided to the Committee concerning student ride time from the Springville attendance area, the Transportation Department is performing field tests of several route scenarios. Results of these tests can be found under the tabs below:

Route Track: Route and stop locations displayed on a map
GPS Track: Lists the address of each stop location, longitude & latitude coordinate, and timestamp for each data point

Each route has a 20 second “Stop Delay” incorporated for each bus stop.
A Stop Delay is the amount of time involved in stopping the vehicle; the time it takes for a bus to slow down and stop.
Each route has a 3 second per student “Student Delay” incorporated. No stop has less than a 20-second student delay.
A Student Delay is the time it takes to pick up or drop off each student at each stop.
All routes were performed with the bus driving at or below posted speed limits.
All routes were performed at the time of day indicated on Route Sheet.
All routes were tracked using Zonar Systems GPS V3 Telematics Control Unit.
Routes performed on Friday 2/7/20, Monday, 2/10/20 and Tuesday 2/11/20.
Stop Time Validation: 12 days of data from 1/8/20 to 2/5/20 in the Springville boundary were randomly collected which revealed an average load/unload time of 42 seconds per stop. The minimum stop time evaluated was 3 seconds, the maximum stop time was 1:48. Total sample size was 2,222 data points with 84 points of 3 seconds or greater. Stops of less than 3 seconds were not included.
