¡Sí Se Puede! Healthy Steps, Strong Communities

Community Partner Booths:

  • Local clinics/health orgs - Virginia Garcia
  • Healthy eating and trader joes fruit donations -
  • THPRD Rec Mobile with games or activities centered around Latinx heritage
  • Learning Wall with posters and teaching activity
  • Barriers for active transportation/Design a route - SRTS

     


Kids Activities:

  • Bike and pedestrian safety skills
  • Healthy eating presentation and snacks
  • Design your ideal community with blocks and playmat
  • Make signs for your walk/bike to school day
  • Chalk art walkways - messages of community hope and strength
  • Bingo cards to visit each booth and get a prize
  • Logic puzzles table

William Walker families will hold a School-Wide Walk + Bike to School Day May 15th! (the following Wednesday)

  • Organize walking and biking “school buses” with staff, families, and volunteers leading safe group routes to school.
  • Encourage students to decorate bikes, wear Huerta-inspired signs (e.g., “Sí Se Puede!”), or wear red in her honor.
  • School staff and volunteers welcome students with music, snacks, and cheers at arrival.
