Todd Corsetti - Southridge High School
Southridge High School Principal Todd Corsetti has had a connection to the school since before it was even built. While a teacher at Whitford Middle School, Corsetti served on the planning team for the new high school. "The first memories I have is coming out on the site when they hadn't even cleared the land yet," he says.
It was his experience on the planning team that, Corsetti says, led him in the direction of administration, "I was able to see a side of education that you don't see as a teacher in the classroom." As the school was being built, Corsetti says his dream job was to become principal someday. "I thought this is a place that I could see myself really being able to lead."
At the time, he was in his second year teaching 7th grade English. Corsetti says he chose to teach English because it was his favorite subject in high school. "I felt like I could really connect kids to that curriculum," he says. Corsetti's favorite book is "A Farewell to Arms" by Ernest Hemingway.
Corsetti was an assistant principal at Southridge and Sunset, before returning to lead Southridge in 2010. He says the staff at his school is "top-notch," good at adapting to change and able to collaborate well together.
When Corsetti isn't leading staff members, he enjoys athletics and spending time with his wife and three kids. He and his wife, Bridget, were high school sweethearts. In fact, when Corsetti's mother was pregnant, she borrowed maternity clothes from his future mother-in-law.
