Goal: To maintain Beaverton School District’s financial integrity and trustworthiness. Foremost, we are charged with ensuring that reliable internal and budgetary controls are followed in the daily operations of the District. The department also provides support to all schools and departments allowing them to provide a quality education to the children of our District.
Each year, the Finance Department produces a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30.
The District’s management has established a comprehensive internal control framework that is designed both to protect assets from loss, theft, or misuse and to compile sufficient reliable information for the preparation of the District’s financial statements in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements. The Beaverton School District’s financial statements are audited annually by an independent licensed certified accounting firm.
The Beaverton School District has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association every year for the last 25 years. The District has also been awarded a Certificate of Excellence from the Association of School Business Officials International annually for the last 24 years.
The Finance Department also produces Monthly Financial Summaries for the current year.
