Credit By Proficiency

There are two procedures designated by the Oregon Department of Education and the Beaverton School District in which students may apply for credit for proficiency, Credit for Proficiency: Prior Learning and Credit for Proficiency: Out of Class Learning.

Credit for Proficiency: Prior Learning: Students may apply for credit if they have reached proficiency in all the long-term learning targets in a course offered by the Beaverton School District. This process allows a student to present a collection of evidence to demonstrate proficiency in lieu of taking a class.

Credit for Proficiency: Out of Class Learning: Students may apply for approval of a plan to earn credit for proficiency for learning that is not represented in a course offered by the Beaverton School District. This process allows a student to submit a collection of evidence to demonstrate proficiency as determined by existing national or international standards in the applicable field of study.
