Open Enrollment
Open enrollment offers a transfer opportunity for BSD students who wish to attend another BSD school outside of their neighborhood boundary.
Schools with openings for transfers will be updated when that data is available.

There are some important factors that families should consider when applying for an open enrollment transfer:
- Students must maintain attendance of 92% or greater. There should be no more than one minor suspension per academic year, no suspension greater than five days and no expulsions.
- Transportation to the new school is the responsibility of families. Buses don’t travel from resident schools to open enrollment schools. However, occasionally, students may live close to the attendance boundary of the open enrollment schools. In those cases, parents can submit a Transportation Service Request form.
- Approval is for the duration of the current school level only (e.g., elementary, middle or high school).
- There's no guarantee that siblings’ applications will be approved.
- Students should be committed to attending the open enrollment school for the entire academic year.
- A lottery system may be used if there are more applications than available spots.
