Week 3: PE & Coaches ADAPT Warm ups and cool downs for students

 

During Week 3 professional development on November 15, high school PE teachers and coaches gathered in the main gym at Mountainside High School to participate in an interactive training with a guest presenter from ADAPT (Athletic Development and Performance Training) Training. 

The training focused on movement critical to muscle development and the importance of movement patterns in preventing catastrophic injury to student athletes and revitalizing the active lifestyles of kids. "Your body functions best when it's aligned and balanced. Your muscles were designed to move in a certain way," says Brian Cassidy, ADAPT Founder.

Cassidy walked the teachers and coaches through warm ups and cool downs that focused on full range of motion for all of the muscles, big and small to help students get the most from their workout or practice with an emphasis on injury prevention.
