Vose Elementary School Dedication Ceremony

Community members, staff, students and dignitaries attended the dedication of Vose Elementary School on Friday, October 6, 2017. Students performed a song. District and local leaders spoke, including Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. The general contractor Triplett-Wellman Contractors, DLR Group Architects and the BSD project management team were also recognized for their contributions to the project.

The new Vose Elementary School opened its doors in September 2017. Vose students and staff spent the 2016-2017 school year in a temporary school in the Timberland area, while their school was demolished and rebuilt. Vose is establishing a new vision as a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering,Art & Mathematics) school, and the newly constructed building will make this possible.

The new Vose has a capacity of 750 students. The 87,200-square foot school includes 32 classrooms, 9 additional teaching spaces, a stage, teaching area in the library and a dividable gym. The school was built by Triplett Wellman. Vose was designed as a prototype school by DLR Group Architects. Sato, Hazeldale and William Walker elementary schools will all have the same design.

The school will hold an Open House on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 6:00 p.m., which will include building tours.
