Parent Commitment Statement

I understand a dual language program requires 6 or more years of participation in order to reach the full potential of high academic achievement, bi-literacy and bilingualism, and sociocultural competence. If my child is accepted into the program, I will attend the required orientation meetings, support first language development at home, and make the long term commitment  (6+ years) of dual language education for my child.

Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement

  • Approval is for the duration of the child’s elementary years (as long as they remain in Beaverton School District).
  • Our goal is to include siblings if possible, however there is not a guarantee of sibling applications being approved.
  • Students who live within the dual language school's attendance boundary will be placed first. A lottery system is implemented when there are more applications than spaces available. Contact the school site DL coordinator for more information on the lottery.
  • Kindergarten applicants: All incoming Kindergarten students must register with their HOME school in addition to applying to the dual language program. Pending acceptance into the program, the dual language application will become the transfer document for students who live outside of the dual language school's attendance boundary. 
  • Transportation is provided only to students living within the dual language school boundary (in accordance with the transportation. Students attending a dual language school from outside of the boundary DO NOT receive transportation from the district.
