Computer Hardware
This course is focused primarily on what you need to know to successfully build, troubleshoot, upgrade and maintain a PC. Students will also gain a working knowledge of computer networking, and will a continue their exploration of electronics by learning how to program and manipulate circuits attached to common microcontrollers like the Arduino and/or the Raspberry Pi. For those considering a computer industry career, this class can serve as a first step towards A+ certification for microcomputer technicians. Students in this course may receive PCC credit.

Game Design I (Intro to Programming)
In this course, students will explore the fundamental concepts of computer programming. Students will learn about sprites, events, sounds, MIDI files, and even object-oriented programming concepts. We will explore elements of computer programming through the following game genres: scrolling games, maze, puzzle, and multiplayer games.

Web Design 1
Are you tired of simply surfing the Internet and ready to start creating it? If so, this course can help you learn basic web design skills and tools. First, we will get to know the language of the web, HTML. We will learn the basic building blocks of web page construction: lists, web hosting, hyperlinks, images, style, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to name a few. Finally, we pull them all together to make compelling websites that are both correct and appealing. Students in this class can receive PCC dual credit.

Java Programming I
This course is specifically designed for students curious to discover more about computer science, computer programming, and computer game design. We will use the Java programming language in our exploration of object-oriented computer science concepts. Topics to be covered include variables, constants, strings, if statements, switch statements, constructors, get/set methods, loops, arrays, and applets.
