Summer School

Registration is now CLOSED.

Mountainside High School is pleased to offer many options in both credit recovery and accelerated & enhancement programs during summer school. Summer school will take place Monday through Thursday, June 24 – July 25 (Intensive Summer Version (ISV) Courses operate on a slightly different schedule). There will be no summer school on July 4th in observance of the holiday.

Classes are offered to all eligible students in the district. Students, including option school students, will access their home high school first and if a course is not offered, they can enroll in another comprehensive high school within the district.

Registration forms will be available on April 16th online to download and in the counseling office. Under-enrolled classes may be cancelled and if so, full refunds given. If a course is full, additional registrations will be placed on a waiting list in date/time-stamp order. Payment must be made prior to the first class.

Make checks payable to Mountainside High School or payment can be made online through the Online Payment System once the application has been processed and fees assessed to the student's account.  The Summer School counselor, Mrs. Jukkala, will verify class selections.

What are the attendance policies for Summer School?
A parent/guardian must call 503-356-3500 the day of the absence to inform the school of all student absences and tardies. During summer school, all absences are counted.  A student will be considered absent if they are more than 30 minutes tardy. Two tardies equals an absence.  If a student accumulates more than two absences the student will lose credit for the class. There is no fee refunded if a student is dropped due to attendance issues.

Is transportation provided?
No district transportation will be provided. TriMet bus passes will be provided to students that live 1.5 miles or more from the school but they will need to make travel arrangements to get to school on the first day.  The closest TriMet bus stop to Mountainside HS is SW Scholls Ferry Rd and SW Teal Blvd.
